Rosemary Birthing Home charges a comprehensive package fee ($6,000.00) for low risk healthy expectant mothers. This fee includes the following:

  • All prenatal visits,
  • Required pregnancy and childbirth classes at the birthing home,
  • Labor and birth at the birthing home / your home,
  • 4 postpartum visits (1-2 days, 3-5 days, 2 weeks, and 6 weeks).

Lab work, ultrasounds, newborn hearing and metabolic screening, and a birthing kit may be additional costs.  Our office staff will explain such additional fees to you.

By Florida law (Florida Statute Number 627.6574), birth with a licensed midwife at Rosemary Birthing Home or at your own home is covered by any group, blanket, or franchise policy of health insurance that provides coverage for maternity care.

In accordance with this statute, Rosemary Birthing Home care is covered at varying levels by most insurance plans. Rosemary Birthing Home accepts Medicaid (click here to apply). However, Medicaid does not cover some expenses incurred at the birthing home.  You will be informed of expenses which you are responsible to pay.  If you have insurance, all labs and ultrasounds will be billed directly to the insurance company by the provider of those services unless your insurance company directs us to do otherwise. If you do not have insurance we have a self pay plan available. We accept Visa and Mastercard. Ultimately, you are responsible for all charges.

If a hospital transfer is necessary, you will be responsible for all hospital charges and any additional fees charged by a physician.  Ambulance or other complication expenses are also your responsibility.  If you transfer your care to another provider, you are responsible for any balance that you owe to Rosemary Birthing Home.

Our office staff will provide these policies in detail and answer your questions as needed.  A $250.00 Administration Fee is required on your first visit.  If you are on a self-pay plan, the full fee of $6,000.00 must be paid by your 32nd week of pregnancy.  If necessary, we can assist you in formulating a payment plan that meets these requirements.  A discount will be given if you make payment in full by your second visit.

Rosemary Birthing Home will negotiate with all major insurance companies to try to obtain a letter of agreement. If a letter of agreement is not obtained, then the client will need to bill the insurance themselves and will be responsible for the service fees.

Rosemary Birthing Home believes that all women deserve equal access to care.
